Confession: Once upon a time, before I had a nine-to-five job, I was extremely lazy. I never exactly called it that, but my weekends were mostly spent watching entire seasons of shows on DVD, watching chickflicks, sleeping in and then staying in bed to read until 4pm, staying up late to write long-winded emails to friends and family, and well.. ya, I think that’s enough of a demonstration. Oh and sometimes I only left my house to walk to Shoppers for chocolate. Sometimes still in my reindeer pjs. Ok, NOW that’s enough.
Anyways, since moving to Toronto, this really, almost never, ever, happens anymore. My family is in another city, Jay’s family is in another city, some of my closest friends live in other cities, I work Monday to Friday, spend what feels like 1/4 of my time on public transportation, and have an apartment I am slightly neurotic about keeping clean, so no, laziness is a little less frequent. Though, I will admit that after dinner most nights, I am a couch potato, but that is one or two hours, compared to the days it used to be.
Regardless of lesser time spent doing nothing, I quite love being busy. It’s not like I am busy doing unpleasant things! I love my job, I take sincere pride in my apartment, I adore visiting friends and family, so ya, life is good! But, every once in a while, I miss the lazy days. So this morning, I had one!
8:00am – Wake up to Jay’s alarm (sometimes he works Saturdays). Instead of going back to bed, I decided to get up-and-at-’em. I read a few chapters of Jenny Han’s new book BURN FOR BURN.
9:00am – While perusing my closet for what to wear this afternoon when I meet up with some friends, I realized that I literally had no pants left. So, laundry time!
10:00am – One load of laundry down, 2 to go, I decided it was completely necessary to stay in my pjs and try and fix my blog header (which has been my goal for a very long time).
10:30am – Take break to read more.
11:00am – Yes! It looks .. better! While I’m in a bloggish mood, time to browse my favourite blogs!
12:00pm – Time for breakfast! A sandwich and a coffee! And some more reading.. Felt the need to include a picture of the coffee. It’s Vanilla Biscotti!
12:10pm – Time to catch up on the 20 episodes I have fallen behind on in The Lizzie Bennet Diaries! Have you seen it? You should totally check it out! Click below.
12:45pm – Fold three loads of laundry. Listen to this song on repeat:
1:00pm – Blog!
1:20pm (in future) – After being up for 5 hours, perhaps should shower. And head out! Friends are awaiting!
Bottom line, this post was a bit pointless except for this small statement: being lazy sometimes, is awesome.

I totally wish I could have a lazy day! Unfortunately, since I’m still living with my parents right now, my mother would never allow it! Love your new blog header and can’t wait to hear what you think of Jenny Han’s new book! :)
Mothers to tend to keep us busy lol. Mine is the same. Hope you still get some lazy days here and there!
Oh. I love lazy Saturdays. I can totally relate to your formerly lazy lifestyle. I am also having a lazy Saturday, but mine is not by choice but by force. The doldrums of an early fall cold. Blagh. Thanks for the great post! – Rene
Thanks Rene! Being lazy definitely calls up nostalgia for former lazier times. Hope you had a great Saturday yourself!
Loving read this account of your day, Chelse! Reminded me of the chats we used to have in CBPP…miss you!
And yes, omg, I LOVE The Lizzy Bennet Diaries! It’s getting SO good, now that the plot is underway. Can’t wait till they bring Darcy onscreen hehe!
Hope you had a fabulous day! :)
xx
Aww, thanks Ikhlas! Sometimes I miss CBPP days too! The Lizzie Bennet Diaries are addictive. I still have some catching up to do, but I am definitely pumped about seeing Darcy!
Days like this are SO necessary for keeping me sane. Where’s the laundry shot? LOL
Oooooh the laundry shot haha. I think its better not to display my undergarmets on the interweb lol.
