My favourite book memories growing up often feature the local Chapters as their backdrop. From trips with my dad while he browsed woodworking magazines, to hangouts with my best friend in high school, I had a continual love affair with that store. During my grade eight graduation, my teacher presented an award to me, saying that one day she hoped to see my name on those shelves. So you can imagine how I felt when I stopped by my new local Chapters and saw this:
To my coworkers, this is a usual occurence. Books that my colleagues and I fall in love with and back to the bitter end, find their way onto the Indigo Recommends shelf. After my relentless fight to make everyone I knew read Maria Semple’s Where’d You Go, Bernadette, my colleague offered to let me write my own Indigo Recommends. This is now in all large format stores across Canada. And I won’t lie, I did a little dance in the store.
So, Mrs. Rosts, if you ever happen to read this .. I may not have written a book, but my name is on the shelf =). Woohoo!

I loved this post SO much! I even read it to my Dad… Way to go Chels – I’m sure their will be many more recommendations from you in stores across Canada soon :)
Woohoo!! cool. cool cool cool.
That is way too cool!!! I’m going to keep my eyes peeled for it at Chapters the next time I go!!!
Omg that is so cool, congratulations, Chelse! I would have done a very similar dance…can’t wait to go in and look for it! :)
